Cold Brew Ratio & Timer

Choose a recipe label, set coffee weight and a duration, and calculate the water mass. The local countdown tracks the time you choose; it does not prescribe a universal steep or storage period.

Steep countdown

No steep in progress.

How It Works

Cold brewing uses time instead of hot water, but the final composition and sensory result depend on coffee, grind, ratio, temperature, water and filtration. Published comparisons do not make every cold brew sweeter, smoother or lower in acidity than every hot brew.

The concentrate and ready-to-drink labels here are editable starting recipes, not standardised strength classes. The countdown stores the end time locally so it remains useful after a reload. It deliberately does not infer an ideal duration, food safety or a finished-brew shelf life.

Step-by-Step Usage Guide

  1. Choose a starting grind and recipe you can repeat.
  2. Combine grounds and water in a clean vessel, then start the duration you selected.
  3. Keep the vessel under conditions appropriate to your own food-safety and storage practice.
  4. Filter according to the clarity and workflow you prefer.
  5. Taste the result, record it, and change one variable next time if needed.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. Iced coffee begins with hot brewing and cold brew begins with a room-temperature or chilled extraction. Their sensory differences are recipe- and coffee-dependent.
This timer can track any duration in its stated range. It cannot validate a long steep; evaluate a small, documented trial and follow suitable food-handling guidance.
There is no single best roast level. Start with a repeatable recipe and adjust based on the coffee and your own sensory result.
The end time is stored in this browser, so reopening the page shows the remaining time. The tab does not need to stay open.

Applicable Scenarios

Useful when you want to plan a batch, keep a timed record or compare one cold-brew recipe with another. Use a scale and record the process if you want the result to be repeatable.
