Privacy Policy

Last updated: 23 September 2026

Brew Bench is designed to work without collecting personal data. This policy explains what that means in practice and how the limited local storage used by some tools works.

1. We do not collect personal data

The site has no user accounts, no registration, no login and no server-side database of visitors. We do not ask for your name, email address, payment details or any other identifying information in order to use any tool. The contact form on the Contact Us page is display-only: it performs no submission and stores nothing.

2. Tool inputs stay on your device

Every calculator runs in your browser using local JavaScript. The doses, temperatures, tasting notes, scores and dates you enter are processed in the page itself and are never transmitted to us or to any third party. Closing or reloading the page discards them unless a tool explicitly saves them locally, as described below.

3. Purpose of local storage

A small number of tools use your browser's local storage so your own work is still there when you come back. This data is written to your device only, is readable only by this site in this browser, and is never uploaded.

  • Multi-Stage Brew Timer — stores your custom stage names and durations so your routine is ready next time.
  • Cold Brew Ratio & Timer — stores the end time of an active steep so the countdown survives a page reload.
  • Bean Age Tracker — stores the bean names, roast dates and brewing methods you choose to save.
  • Brew Log — saves the date, method, measured inputs, brew time and any optional note for up to 50 records.
  • Caffeine Intake Log — saves a label and milligram amount for up to 100 local records.

You can delete this data at any time using the removal controls inside those tools, or by clearing site data for this domain in your browser settings. Removing it has no effect other than resetting those tools to their defaults.

4. Cookies, analytics and advertising status

As of the date above, the delivered site pages do not load Google AdSense, analytics, profiling or other third-party advertising scripts. The site itself does not set advertising cookies. Aggregate request counts that a hosting platform may record in standard server logs are not linked to individuals by us and are not used for profiling.

Before advertising is activated

If we activate Google advertising in the future, we will update this policy to identify the live vendors and data practices. Where Google requires consent for visitors in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, we will configure a Google-certified consent management platform before loading eligible advertising technology. We will not treat this notice as a substitute for that consent flow.

Google personalised advertising

If Google advertising is activated, Google and its partners may use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this and other websites. Users can opt out of Google personalised advertising at any time:

Opting out does not remove ads; it only stops them from being tailored to your interests. Even with personalisation off, Google may still use contextual information (such as page topic or general location) to select ads.

5. Children's privacy

The site is a general-audience reference resource and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children, because it collects no personal information at all.

6. Your rights

Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct, export or erase on your behalf. Data stored locally by the tools is entirely under your control through your browser.

7. Changes to this policy

If the site's data practices ever change — for example if an optional feature were added that required storage of additional information — this policy would be updated first, with the revision date changed accordingly.

8. Contact

Privacy questions can be sent to [email protected].
